Open government sites set to go dark
Days after Obama gets award for transparency--in secret , bureaucrats running the government struck again.
OMB prepares for open gov sites to go dark in MayMany of the Obama administration's top open government initiatives are set to be turned off by May 31.
Government sources confirm that the Office of Management and Budget is planning to take seven websites dark in two months because of a lack of funding.
One government official, who requested anonymity because they didn't get permission to discuss the topic
Yes, Obama requested more money to continue these open government projects, which do appear to save money and do what they are intended, but Congress trimmed the request.
Maybe Obama could get the money if he deemed these initiatives a kinetic military action.
