Your Congress at work

What should Congress do about the Bush tax cuts? What about the unemployment situation? And the war? The leaky border?

All of these issues pale in importance as Congress completed passage of a major issue affecting the health, safety and sustainability of the American people for now and future generations as reported The Hill.

The Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act would authorize the Federal Communications Commission to regulate the volume of advertisements to ensure they aren't noticeably louder than the programs they interrupt, a problem that has annoyed consumers for decades.

Instructions for using the remote for mute and lower volume or fast forwarding on Tivo during ads were not in the bill. Presidential use of teleprompters with an accompanying requirement that the entire nation listen to all presidential pronouncements at full volume were not in the bill. Yet.
