Al Gore is sorry he subsidized ethanol
This is a direct quote from Al Gore on November 22 concerning his political mendacity over corn-ethanol subsidies according to Reuters:
"One of the reasons I made that mistake [over ethanol] is that I paid particular attention to the farmers in my home state of Tennessee, and I had a certain fondness for the farmers in the state of Iowa because I was about to run for president" in 2000.
While well-off liberals preen themselves over implementing sanctimonious policies that subsidize corn- ethanol fuel consumption in order to avert a spurious "climate catastrophe" one hundred year hence, many in the third world may go hungry THIS YEAR due to the ensuing disruption in grain-markets according a new study by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.
Perhaps someone should suggest that this particular UN Organization should compare notes with the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to coordinate over the relative URGENCY of each of these "crises".
While the third world experiences food riots, let's remind liberals: NO STARVATION FOR FUEL!
