NAACP meeting calmly listened to racist remarks from black fed official
Andrew Breitbart has scored another bullseye, revealing hypocrisy of the highest order on the part of another leftist establishment organization, the NAACP. On March 27 of this year, speaking before an NAACP 20th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet, Shirley Sherrod, the Department of Agriculture director for the State of Georgia -- responsible for over a billion dollars a year in spending -- boasts of denying a white farmer her full efforts because of his race. The audience does not react with shock or disapproval, but rather just sits there.
So much for NAACP President Ben Jealous denouncing the tea parties for tolerating racists. Only after Breitbart gave the incriminating video national exposure did the NAACP issue the obligatory denunciation, to prevent further embarrassment. But when nobody was looking, the NAACP audience was totally cool with the racism expressed by their speaker.
Sherrod also practically begs blacks to come to work for the USDA - because they won't be fired.
Now that sunshine is exposing the rot, Sherrod has resigned, and the NAACP is expressing outrage. Too bad that it took months and national exposure to get them to react to racism by a speaker at a meeting of theirs.
