The years have not mellowed Governor Moonbeam
Jerry Brown, the former two term Governor of California who wants to be governor again, has already made a fool of himself in his campaign against GOP candidate Meg Whitman, shooting off his mouth when a radio reporter happened to run into him while both men were jogging in the Oakland Hills. The San Jose Mercury-News reports:
According to Sovern's [the KCBS Radio reporter] blog, Brown fretted about Whitman's deep pockets before saying, "It's like Goebbels," referring to Hitler's notorious minister of propaganda, Joseph Goebbels."Goebbels invented this kind of propaganda," Sovern reported Brown as saying. "He took control of the whole world. She wants to be president. That's her ambition, the first woman president. That's what this is all about."
Coming from a man who ran for president twice, this sort of hyperbole about ambition is comic. Jerry Brown may be self-destructing in this campaign.
