Had enough 'winter' yet?
"Now is the winter of our discontent..." are the opening lines of Shakespeare's Richard III. In this opening monologue, Richard speaks of his own personal ambition and his jealousy toward his brother, King Edward IV who is ruling the country successfully.
Sound familiar? We have political unrest, social unrest, national disasters and the highest unemployment in recent memory. Had enough "winter" yet?
Barack Obama, in an unprecedented manner, has blamed everything on his predecessor, George W. Bush. When the Cambridge Police were called to a house by a neighbor who thought the house was being burglarized, Obama found the first microphone he could and dumped on Sergeant Jim Crowley of the Cambridge Police saying he "acted stupidly" in a rush to judgment. Likewise, he wasted no time in criticizing Arizona's immigration laws that only enforce present Federal laws by saying that the law is "misdirected. " I could go on and on about every time Obama has stooped to act like a schoolboy and blame everything that has happened on his watch on someone else. That is easy to do.
However, Obama has been AWOL when it has come to some of the most important issues in years.
When the Iranian people protested the elections last summer, Obama was not to be found. Innocent people were shot in the streets, others arrested. Obama was silent. Mute. The Iranians begged for just moral support and they received none. Obama could have played a role in bettering the lives of millions trapped in a 14th century Islamic Terrorist State. He could have also taken the opportunity at that time to ensure that Iran would not possess nuclear arms, which, now by all accounts, they will. Thanks a lot.
Now we have the great oil disaster of 2010. Obama has done nothing. They have demonized BP though! However, they have not until recently responded to any requests made by the Governor Of Louisiana or the people to save their state. Obama has been so derelict that even James Carville blasted Obama on national television.
Obama and the Democrat leaders have also forced spending down our throats at an unprecedented rate that our national debt is on a collision course with bankruptcy while Obama sings the praises of Lollipop Land.
We often hear that the birth of our nation was called the "American Experiment." I fear for my country at the hands of this clueless president who has destroyed the rudder within the ship of what makes our country great and unique. The American people will weather this storm of adversity and this willful assault on our economy and our values; but at what price?
I for one have had enough of this Colonel Klink and the leaders in congress. To coin one of the most memorable lines from the end of Richard III, it is clear that Obama is thinking, "A clue, a clue, my kingdom for a clue!" The clue phone has been ringing...pick it up!
