Calderon's 'Chutzpah'
Chutzpah is a Hebrew word meaning "insolence", "audacity" and "impertinence". Generally it is used to describe an individual who has overstepped the boundaries of accepted behavior and shows no shame in doing so. So Americans were privy to an A version of chutzpah by our southern neighbor's president, Felipe Calderon. His bad manners are only slightly less obnoxious than our own President's insouciance as, yet again, another foreign leader denigrates America in his presence.
Obama, in some misguided sense of equivalence, stands by smiling with that smirky manner that has come to distinguish him as the country which he is supposed to defend is diminished. Obama allegedly does not know the federal immigration law nor does his Attorney General; Obama does not extend a hand to the Arizona governor and say, "thank you for letting me know the extent of the problem of illegal immigration for the folks in your state. Let's meet and truly work on a solution to protect all citizens as well as legal immigrants." No, instead he makes a comedy out of the real-life and frightening environment that Arizona finds itself in. But the American people are catching on to this president's pandering and this is heartening.
From the unbelievable and shameful dropping by Eric Holder of the Black Panther case of voter intimidation which everyone can see on You-Tube, to the disgusting display of bad mouthing about certain radio talk shows at Hampton University in Virginia, because they do not kow tow to him, Obama continues to bring shame to this nation. But the American people are beginning to understand the threat to democracy that this president is all about and that is inspiring.
Obama, you and your bevy of radical czars will be defeated because the American people are becoming aroused to action. They see their economy in shambles and yet you shamelessly lie about job creation. From the mountains of Tennessee to the hills of Colorado, the people are catching onto your manipulation of language and doublespeak and your protection of terrorists. They see the disrespect that is intended by the building of a mosque on the site of the 9-11 tragedy.
Right after that awful day, a woman came to her rabbi and asked an unusual question; she said, "rabbi, I want to clean my windows but I dare not because I realize that some of the ash on the windows is actually all that remains of the innocents who were destroyed by the nineteen Saudis in the dastardly attack on America. What shall I do to protect the sanctity of all that remains of these people?" The rabbi was taken aback by the sincerity of this request. He suggested that she gently wipe off the ash and place the tissue and the remains in an envelope and bury it.
The story shows the concern for the sanctity of life and not the disregard for human concerns that this President routinely demonstrates. The American people have not lost their decency and this is awesome. I cannot wait to see the country turn around and roundly defeat this man and his minions at the ballot box.
