A'jad gives Obama the high sign
OK, this is serious, folks. Obama just got the significant digit from Ahmadinejad. That may sound funny, for the first President of the United States to actually use that famous street gesture in his television debate with Hillary Clinton. But it looks like a really historic moment, with momentous repercussions to come.
Obama has bowed to the King of Saudi, to the President of China, and the Emperor of Japan. He's tried the same with Iran, though he hasn't had a chance so far to physically prostrate himself in front of Ayatollah Khamenei, the top mullah in Iran. But time and time again Obama has tried to appease the aggressive, nuke-building Islamofascists in Iran. When Iranian college kids were dying in the streets of Tehran as the regime's thugs drove trucks into the demonstrating crowds, as they were brutally raped and tortured in the prisons, Obama stayed silent.
Behind the scenes, this administration has tried to accommodate Ahmadinejad over and over and over again. Israel's Prime Minister has been publically humiliated -- as described by the Obama administration itself -- in order to please its enemies. Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan was trashed by Obama's PR during Obama's lightning visit to Kabul. Obama has even given his big "Speech to the Muslims" from Al Azhar University in Cairo, the fount of Sunni hate propaganda against Israel.
Now A'jad has written a public letter to Obama, a historically significant gesture that deliberately echoes Mohammed's "obey us or die" letters to the Byzantine and Persian Empires in the 7th century. Mohammed told those Emperors to surrender to Islam or die. Over the next centuries his successors managed to subjugate those empires, a fact that is taken by Muslims to verify Mohammed's divine mission. For radical Muslims those letters to the superpowers of the time are charged with symbolism.
A'jad says he's going to publish his letter, but meanwhile he's letting the cat out of the bag:
"I sent him a message and told him that we welcome change, but we didn't see any genuine change." The "nuclear issue is actually an excuse," he continued. The "U.S. has two options. Either to continue this wrong policy, or to cooperate with Iran. Cooperation is of course better for both of us." [...]"Obama has only one way to remain in power and be successful," Ahmadinejad said in the Tuesday Iranian State Television interview in which he mentioned the letter he sent. "This way is Iran. Obama should start cooperation with Iran in practice."
This shouldn't surprise anybody who understands that Iran is far more determined than Obama or anyone else in the West. They aren't interested in compromise, but only in surrender. In their minds they are on a mission from God, for real, not just as a Hollywood movie line. This is the Jim Jones cult on nuclear steroids.
Obama and the Left have never wanted to believe that. They've always blamed the victims.
So this could be the decisive moment when Obama finally gets the fact that A'jad isn't interested in compromise, only in conquest. The Arab world has known this forever. So has Israel.
Only the West has been in denial.
So this may be the moment when Obama finally gets it.
The question is: Will Obama surrender or resist?
He can no longer deny that choice.
These people play for keeps. Does Obama have the guts to face reality?
