Duke Lacrosse Accuser Arrested

Crystal Gale Mangum, the Duke Lacrosse team rape accuser, has been arrested in Durham, NC, on charges of "attempted first-degree murder, five counts of arson, assault and battery, communicating threats, three counts of misdemeanor child abuse, injury to personal property, identity theft and resisting a public officer." WRAL Television reports:

Durham police arrested Duke lacrosse accuser Crystal Gale Mangum, 33, late Wednesday after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend, set his clothes on fire in a bathtub and threatened to stab him.

Her bond was set at $1 million. Mangum has been appointed a public defender and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 22.

She will now consume even more tax money through her utilization of the judicial system.

Rich Baehr wonders: Maybe the Duke Faculty Group of 88 can issue a new statement on racism and sexism and classism.

Eileen McDevitt adds: maybe Mike Nifong should be appointed to defend Crystal Gale.
