President Obama was awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. The stock market is booming. In February 2009 Obama signed into law an economic package: a 787 billion dollar stimulus package designed to create millions of jobs. Many of the bailed out banks have already repaid their government loans.

With all this going for an American President, the democratic response is "A lot of people don't want Barack Obama to succeed, and that's who we're fighting against. They don't want him to be a president that leads this country. They want him to be a president who fails," said Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.
