More GOP momentum
Democrat Senator Byron Dorgan has announced he will retire when his term ends this year, and will not run for re-election after three terms in the Senate. The North Dakota seat should be an easy pick-up for the GOP, since the state leans Republican and conservative. Especially if popular Republican Governor John Hoeven runs.
Momentum is building, as Democrats retire rather than face voters, and the GOP finds more capable candidates willing to run in a year that may rout the Democrats in a massive repudiation of the attempted push of America over a leftist cliff.
