American Thinker invites readers to "Join the Discussion" twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year. Today's 6th Anniversary celebrates the outstanding American Thinker family of readers, writers and commenters -- a community of thinkers and patriots.
AT Editor Thomas Lifson set his compass six years ago: "The perception is that the decline of print media is accelerating, so more people are getting their news and political framework from the web. We want AT to be the home for thoughtful conservatives."

I've been reading the articles and blogs on American Thinker for quite awhile, but it has now become part of my morning ritual (well, if noon counts as morning). Every day I feel better about "our" situation after reading the comments by people from all over the country. Thank you, American Thinker, for bringing all of us together! Through this forum, I know my point of view is shared by many, and this gives me hope.

American Thinker is the voice of reason in the context of irrational partisanship in our country, a beacon of light shinning into the dark corners of our republic; enlightenment in a sudden cloud of a dark age. It is my daily-required reading and offers the much-needed light at the end of the tunnel. American Thinker is the place for moderates and conservatives to vent and to find like-minded fellowship when the noise of irrational legacy media tries to drown out the majority will. Thomas, we thank you for your great contributions and the assembly of fine writers that offer refuge from the storm.

I have treasured my involvement at American Thinker with other Americans. I find it easier to write words than to speak them. I have gotten very angry at times but find solace here with other like-minded souls. Sometimes I think there's no hope, but one inspiring column brings me back. Sometimes I feel like I'm all alone in one of those zombie movies, the kind where all the dead rise up and start devouring the living. I'm the oddball. I'm the kook. All these zombies can't be wrong, right? Then I read something great in American Thinker, and I know there are more like me, other living, breathing--and most important of all, thinking--human beings. Armed with that knowledge, I can face the zombies.

I visit American Thinker almost every day. It's a great news site and has plenty of accounts of honest opinion. Thomas Lifson and his band of patriotic volunteers have provided a service that is greatly appreciated by writers and posters whose contributions of thought are always welcome. What they do here does indeed serve to inform our Republic.

For anyone who wishes to stay informed in depth and ahead of the curve, and from all sides about developing events, especially from a conservative point of view, there tends to be no better source than the articles and comments written by those who frequent American Thinker. A few commentators, such as Charles Krauthammer and Thomas Sowell, exhibit exceptional political judgment. However, for broad coverage, no source provides political analysis that is more timely and on target than right here at American Thinker.

The Liberty Tree, that literal and rhetorical focal point for Revolutionary information posting and exchange, was a prominent part of the local history as a boy growing up in Massachusetts. That legendary oak tree is now replaced by no less an informational focal point. American Thinker is the new digital Liberty Oak, one that is looked to for its thoughtfulness, its depth, its timeliness and accuracy, and for its pursuit of the truth. May our appreciation of our liberties grow ever stronger; assembled, parsed and nurtured under the protection of this new Liberty Tree of American Thought.

American Thinker is like reading the news with insight and analysis. I've always looked for a rational exchange of ideas in political discussion groups. It's like a double check on my own ideas and a challenge to forward my thinking as part of the discourse. We have a diversity of viewpoints and agree to disagree. There are many times that I'm enlightened, and I hope my participation helps balance the arguments. It's entirely possible that we are building one of the better forums on the net and I suspect it is monitored by many of the major news groups as well as the government lurkers. Really.

I can't think of anything worse than not being able to start the day with a cup of java and American Thinker. It covers thought provoking subjects, and the commenters use their intellect to debate the issues instead of resorting to slogans as they do on other internet sites. For a long time I felt alone in believing in America's exceptionalism, but reading American Thinker has given me hope that there are others out there who believe as I do.

This citizen can think of no greater decency than for our community of patriotic American thinkers to declare our cause for the unanimous consent for freedom than from this very patriotic platform of free speech. I extend my heartfelt thankfulness to American Thinker. What comes to mind may be better expressed if I offer my tribute by submitting a slight twist from the words of the first paragraph of the Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America:
When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to strengthen the political bonds which have connected them to each other and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to unite in the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness for all.

You know what is so appealing about getting the news from the new alternative media, like American Thinker, is that not only do I get the news from a perspective that fits my perception of reality, but unlike the antique media, there is no filter to keep me from finding out about the other points of view available. One of the most enlightening aspects of the conservative news sites is that they cross reference, i.e., link, to nearly every source that they get their stories from. It is that sourcing thing that I find most appealing.

I'm a pretty recent convert to American Thinker. I discovered the site after I got home from the 9/12 march in D.C. because I discovered that Lloyd Marcus blogged here. Now you can't get me out of here with a crowbar. American Thinker has some of the smartest people on the Internet as its contributors and readers. It's really nice to be able to debate a subject without the usual flame wars and idiot trolls.

American Thinker is the premier conservative web site in my opinion. Articles are often quoted by conservative talk show hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin on their programs. AT brings the issues to life and allows its readers to comment on the topics discussed. AT has done an outstanding job in bringing together writers who provide clear insight and commentary on the political events of the day. Happy Anniversary!

AT is my primary source for background on the news of the day. I have come to expect insightful and detailed looks at events and issues from AT that I have not been able to get from the MSM for decades; I am seldom disappointed. Mr. Lifson has done a great service for me and for all Americans who wish to know not only the truth, but the reasons why it IS the truth. It is also sometimes very revealing to follow and participate in reader forum. There is a great opportunity to engage in conversation with other truth-seekers: sometimes I learn more from them than I do from the original article. On behalf of myself and all the others who rely on AT to provide honest, truthful and accurate reporting, thank-you.

For at least the last two years, Americanthinker.com has been my favorite website because it produces a rich abundance of commentary from a remarkably large number of talented writers who write truly substantial essays. These writers have distinguished themselves through tenacious and thorough pursuit of hot topics like Climategate. Mr. Lifson, who is an accomplished writer in his own right, deserves the very greatest commendations for starting and holding together this website over the last six years. American Thinker is the best.

American Thinker can surely be said to have achieved its founder's aim of creating a community for thoughtful political discussion. There are few websites that come even close to the quality of political articles, and informed, reasoned and civilized debate by those who comment. On the pages of American Thinker, when contributors disagree, the differences are answered with rational arguments rather than the kind of personal abuse typical elsewhere. And, thanks to the fact that many contributors are frequent visitors to AT, it has taken on the feel of a neighborhood as we get to know our fellow thinkers' viewpoints and personal areas of interest and expertise.
