Why such joy over Tiger Woods' humiliation?
My finger and TV remote are getting a good workout changing the channel whenever another Tiger Woods scandal update comes on.
I am finding it more and more distasteful watching the gleeful coverage of every sleazy detail of Tiger's affairs. Without question, Tiger betrayed his family and his fans.
But this piling on by the media exposing every titillating detail of every text message and so on, feels wrong. Tiger is not a politician paying for prostitutes with taxpayer's funds. He is a private citizen; a troubled young man who obviously has issues.
So why is everyone thoroughly enjoying exposing Tiger's dirty laundry and enjoying his public humiliation? Who would like their sins made public? I know Tiger brought this on himself. Still, the media's excessive joyful coverage and our savoring the details feels wrong.
