Why has the Obama administration remained silent about the second man who was taken away in handcuffs after everyone deplaned Northwest Airlines flight 253 when it landed in Detroit carrying the terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab?
 
According to another airplane passenger who appeared on Greta Van Susteren’s Fox News show on December 28, bomb-sniffing dogs led police to a second “middle-eastern looking man” who deplaned with the other passengers.
 
When the dog stopped at the man’s luggage, indicating a suspicious condition, his bags were searched and he was handcuffed and led away by the authorities. As far as I can tell, the administration hasn’t issued a statement about the second man.
 
So, what are we to make of Mr. Obama’s assertion that Abdulmutallab is just “an isolated extremist?” Perhaps the second “middle-eastern man” is The Man Who Never Was.
