Obama goes from one disaster in DC to another in Copenhagen
The health care fiasco is starting to become ever clearer to voters who still haven't been given the privilege of reading the Senate bill.(Why should they see it when the Senate can't?)
Meanwhile, our glory seeking POTUS is about to flit off to Copenhagen where an equally apparent farce is underway.
As the lefty Guardian reports:
The day saw thousands of protesters take to the streets to demand a strong deal by Friday but, while they clashed with police, they failed in their objective to enter the conference centre.
A key meeting of 25 government ministers from different countries, chosen to streamline the negotiations, was 18 hours behind track tonight , having failed to meet for the entire day. The group, along with another 25 "shadow" ministers, had been scheduled for its first meeting in the early hours of Wednesday but it was delayed. Ministers from developing countries were shocked to find that, instead of making progress on producing the slimmed-down draft agreement for the leaders, talks starting at 5.45am had seen the document increase in complexity.
Obviously the Guardian must be talking here of "ministers from developing countries" so backward they have not paid attention to a single international effort in decades.
In the meantime, I suppose there will be endlessly more expensive, lavishly provided for meetings and conferences, seminars and proposals, efforts to redistribute the wealth of the productive to the kleptocrats and dire climate predictions based on false and manipulated data. These doomsday warnings will be continually updated to move the date of our doom forward or backward depending on whichever is greater--- the predicters' need for more fast cash or for retaining even the thinnest shred of credibility.
