Our 'President of Leisure' can't be bothered with the world's problems
Iranian reformers take to the pages of the Wall Street Journal today to beseech the President to help them..instead of spurning them as he has throughout his Presidency.
Well...join the ever-expanding crew of people being disrespected by our President.
The Dalai Lama, the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Angela Merkel (whose invitation to celebrate the anniversary of the fall of the Wall was rejected; but a trip to try to grab the Olympics for hometown Chicago and to reward Obama's pals-that was worth it anyway, as will be his trip to the Nobel Prize ceremony)-all have been spurned.

The funding for the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center was ended by Barack Obama-this group recorded for posterity the torture and murders of the victims of the mullahs. Funding for Freedom House was cut, as well. Freedom House was founded by Franklin Roosevelt and has been working with democratic reformers in Iran. I suppose Iranian victims are distractions to President Obama.*
Wait there are more people who have been mistreated by President Obama.
Israelis-whose history was distorted in the Cairo speech and who were exhorted to be more "self-reflective"; Winston Churchill-whose bust was sent packing from the White House; East Europeans who were promised they would get a missile defense and then woke up one morning to find that promise broken; the Darfur Christians whose genocidal murderers are getting cookies from Washington (despite promises to the contrary during the campaign).

Chinese reformers who are dismissed as distractions; Burmese reformers; Jews in Venezuela whose community is being destroyed by Hugo Chavez (who can forget the photo of Chavez and a smiling Obama. Hondurans-forced to endure the White House forcing a wanna-be dictator upon them.

Conversely, who gets the royal treatment from President Obama?
Literally, the Saudi King got the full bowing and scraping treatment from Obama-despite being responsible for extorting trillions of dollars of wealth from the rest of the world and using it to promote terrorism, anti-Christian attitudes, anti-Semitism around the world. Vladimir Putin-who gets the reset button and crows over the fast one he pulled on the Americans regarding the cancellation of the missiles in Eastern Europe; the aforementioned Hugo Chavez who diabolically plans to topple pro-American leaders throughout Central and South American and connives with the Iranians; and, speaking of the Iranians-how is that overweening praise for Islam and for their regime working? Not so well-given the disdain expressed by the regime towards America and the rejection of our entreaties.
Here is an idea to shake some money loose from the Pinata President: insult America, hit us , defame us, object to us, burn our flag. Now that might bring about some respect and taxpayer dollars.
- Speaking of distractions-how about these distractions from the duties of the office? Vacation plans (he has taken more overseas trips by far at this point during his Presidency than any of his predecessors)
- , musical events at the White House, golf dates, campaign fundraisers, Broadway shows, watching Spongebob Squarepants with his daughters, walks along the beach at exclusive Martha Vineyard estates, and the speeches..always the speeches.
