Kos: 'Conservatives are 'cowards'

A major voice in the Democratic party has referred to conservatives as "cowards" for opposing the civilian trial of KSM in New York.

Writing in The Hill, Markos Moulitsas, AKA "Kos" founder of the Daily Kos website, writes that this was an "easy" decision for Obama to make and that liberals are tough guys on terrorists:

American liberals are tough on terrorists and secure in their knowledge that the Sept. 11 conspirators are guilty of mass murder. American conservatives are timid cowards who fear that the U.S. government can't actually prove that the Sept. 11 killers committed their heinous crimes. Sound weird?

Maybe. But what else can be concluded after watching conservatives collectively lose their heads over President Barack Obama's easy decision to try Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other co-conspirators in U.S. District Court in New York City? Seems that macho conservatives are terrified of shackled terrorists in orange jumpsuits and the United States Constitution.

[...]

Fact is, there are 216 international terrorists currently serving time in U.S. prisons, all of them tried and convicted in U.S. criminal courts, including Sept. 11 co-conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui (tried in a federal court by the George W. Bush administration).

So why change now? Because conservatives are terrified of what terrorists might do? Well, the point of "terrorism" is to instill terror. Apparently, in the case of terrified conservatives, it's mission accomplished.

Republicans have incessantly told us that terrorists hate America because of its freedoms. So there is no better way to show terrorists they've failed than to defiantly frog-march their comrades through the streets of Manhattan, like common criminals, showcasing the American Constitution and the freedoms they supposedly hate so much.

Kos better check with his bosses at the DNC for a new set of talking points. Democrats are denying they are treating KSM as a "common criminal" and yet here's Kos informing us that we are going to, "frog-march their comrades through the streets of Manhattan, like common criminals..."

Glad we got that straightened out.

It has been my experience that those who have to brag about their bravery to convince us of it are themselves cowardly wretches.  But why trade schoolyard taunts with some half wit liberal who confuses prudence and caution with cowardice? It is obvious that Kos does not believe we are at war - which would come as a shock to those very same terrorists who he wants to "frog march" through the streets of Manhattan. They firmly believe they are at war with us. But denying reality is a liberal specialty especially when it comes to exercising our right of self defense.

They want to cut and run from Afghanistan. How brave! How noble! They think we should do nothing and allow Iran to build a nuke. How "smart!" How courageous!" Isn't a little weird that we are getting a lecture in courage from someone who only supported the war in Afghanistan because it was politically advantageous for the election and now that his candidate is in the White House, he advocates total withdrawal?

Where's the "courage" in that? This jamoke doesn't even have the courage of his political convictions. Why should we even give him the time of day when he rants about conservative cowardice while thumping his chest about how brave he is for holding the moronic view that putting terrorists on trial will prove we're better than them? Prove to who? Anyone who doesn't believe the US justice system is superior to anything the terrorists want to impose is an idiot. So we should expose New Yorkers to an increased terrorist threat to prove something to simpleminded fools?

This is all about politics, not courage or cowardice. It is about pandering to minds like Kos's, still mired in Bush hatred and wanting to get back at their enemies despite the fact the rest of us have moved on.

It would have taken real courage for Obama to go against the Kos's of his own party and try KSM in a military tribunal using rules passed by a bi-partisan Congress expressly for that purpose.

Kos is oblivious to this which makes him not only a braggart and fake, but a blinded partisan as well.
