A reader pointed out that Jed Gladstein's post on Google bias was in error because the links to Boxer's campaign that came up were of the "sponsored link" variety. Obviously, this was not a sign of bias - in this case anyway - but rather Google trying to make some money.

The reader was correct and we apologize for the oversight in publishing the piece in the first place.

And to add to our list of errors today, I inadvertently - unthinkingly - (once again) deleted the entire post rather than simply updating it to reflect the new information.

Lest you think me an airhead (I am sorta), I can indeed walk and chew gum at the same time and my last psyche test showed me to be almost normal.

There's no excuse to offer and I throw myself on the mercy of the court. I also apologize to the numerous commenters who had already posted their bits of wit and wisdom only to see them disappear into the ether.

I will try to do better in the future.
