So much for 'chia-Obama'
Apparently the specter of self censorship to head off potential violence and/or politically correct criticisms is not confined to religion The Chicago Sun-Times reports that pharmacy chain CVS has "nipped in the bud" the sale of the "Commander in Chia" planter, in their stores less than a week. Chias are figurines, commonly dogs or cats, made of grooved clay in which moistened chia seeds are placed that eventually sprout.
Walgreen's, which reinstituted Obama Chia after dropping it, has received a few complaints about the item.
Although Chia Obama was a major breakthrough in Chia world--"the first Chia offering based on a living person"--somehow it didn't generate any excitement of another minority first but instead fell victim to the pc fear factor.
Ch-ch-Chia!
