Don't Let Sleeping Blue Dogs Lie
It’s time to hold the Blue Dogs accountable for their statement on health care reform.
In a press release on their website, the self-avowed, fiscally-conservative, Democrat Blue Dogs state:
“Blue Dogs believe fundamental reform of our health care system is needed to control rising health care costs, increase quality and value, and improve access to coverage and care. Comprehensive health care reform must be deficit-neutral and bend the cost curve in the long run. We also believe health care reform must preserve patient choice of provider and maintain competition within the marketplace.” (July 29)
Obamacare doesn’t accomplish any of their generally laudable goals.
Below is a list of the 52 Blue Dogs. If they voted against H.R. 2454 (Cap & Trade) there’s a “2454” after their name. If they voted against H.R. 1 (Porkulus Bill) there’s a “1.”
To find out how to call their office(s) go to this site, find your Blue Dog in the alphabetical list, and click on their name. It’ll take you to their website where phone numbers are typically found under “Contact.”

You’ll note that 4 Blue Dogs (Bright, Griffith, Minnick, and Taylor) voted against both H.R. 2434 and H.R. 1. These are dark-blue Blue Dogs. They must be on Rahm’s speed-dial. If your Blue Dog supported both bills (no “2454” or “1” after their name), then they’re a pale blue pup and their fiscal conservative credentials are questionable.
This is no time to let sleeping Blue Dogs lie about being fiscally conservative. If you own a Blue Dog, wake him/her to your sentiments on Obamacare.
