We Have an It-boy, Not an It-girl
Jay Valentine on American Thinker referred to Sarah Palin as “the 21st Century ‘It’ Girl” earlier this week. With all due respect to Mr. Valentine, it is because of her charisma that Mr. Valentine discussed, along with the substance she exudes, that ‘It’ girl is an inaccurate label for Governor Palin.
That definition simply does not fit Governor Palin. She appears to be so much more as the relentless liberal attacks on her would seem to verify. Other than the “girl” part of the label it does fit, however, someone who is now the dominant media darling. Guess who?
Clearly our president has been referred to as charming by more than a few. As to sexy, a month or so ago women were ogling a bare chested picture of him. Assuming it was sexual (and only he knows for sure), even Chris Matthews last year “…felt this thrill going up my leg.” Contrary to most of his other fellow media pundits guess he only had a partial full body orgasm. “The Messiah” is young as presidents typically go. The incessant fawning by members of the media speaks for itself. And, does it ever feel like a reign instead of a term in office?
If Rep Geoff Davis, R-KY, had used” It-boy,” having no racist or even racial connotation, instead of what he did call the Messiah last year, “boy,” he should neither have been condemned for his statement nor felt the need to apologize. Like with Mr. Clinton and the word “is” another two letter word makes all the difference.
Could there be a more apropos label to describe the current occupant of our White House than “It-boy?” Oh, and how good does “temporary” sound? Based upon the deteriorating direction his poll numbers are heading it may not be long until talking about the It-boy will be done only in the past tense. Unfortunately that still will leave him as president. Go "non-It Girl" Palin.
