Obama, Fast Learner
No one can say President Obama is not a fast learner. With less than four months in office, he has learned that our national debt is "unsustainable."
"We can't keep on just borrowing from China. We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children's future with more and more debt."
Unfortunately, he learned this after his $787 billion stimulus was passed and $410 billion was added to the FY2009 budget, after President Bush signed off on it. He also learned it after submitting a 10-year plan that, according to the Congressional Budget Office, would lead to $ 9.3 trillion in new debt, or more than doubling what it would have been under existing law.
To live is to learn, I guess. President Obama also said,
"Most of what is driving us into debt is health care, so we have to drive down costs."
He is driving down costs by adding $634 billion to his budget for health care , which some experts think will be more like one or two trillion dollars.
I also hear that John Edwards now recognizes the pitfalls of adultery.
