Blog Tributes to the Fallen
There are some excellent tributes to our fallen heroes from around the blogosphere today. Michelle Malkin has a roundup in pictures and video of some of the better ones.
Milblogger Tigerhawk has an effecting piece, "In Memorium and Gratitude" that looks at some emotional editorial cartoons.
Jules Crittenden has a massive roundup of links, including one from a favorite of mine, Maggies Farm, who quotes Ronald Reagan at length.
Fausta has a little Memorial Day history
At Pajamas Media, two pieces honor heroes; Jeff Emanuel has a piece on "The Lost Heroes of the War on Terror. And my own contribution is on a hometown hero and the small town values that are a part of so many of the fallen.
What of our friends on the left?
Well, there is nothing on the front page of Daily Kos about the significance of this day except a few links to diary posts.
Oliver Willis is wondering "Why we are honoring traitors?" because the president sent a wreath to the Confederate War Memorial (he also sent one to the African American War Memorial). He also has a nice photo of some military cemetary (Arlington?).
Firedoglake? Nada. Lots of GOP trashing, though.
Another top lefty blogger, Open Left, is bereft of even a picture recognizing what day it is.
I perused a few other liberal sites but didn't find anything about Memorial Day. Now, I am sure there are lefty blogs out there that posted something honoring the fallen so if you come across one, leave a link in the comments.
We don't want to be accused of trying to prove the left is unpatriotic or something.
