A sad anniversary
Twenty-nine years ago today Jimmy Carter micromanaged a disaster in the Iranian desert, the Desert One operation, intended to rescue the American hostages. Cuffy Meigs of Perfunction reminds us of this sad day, on which brave American soldiers lost their lives, as a control freak president played at being a military commander, not just commander in chief.
