The trend is the GOP's friend
Obama has lost almost all of his post-election bounce, according to Rasmussen.
Remember, though, he won by 7.2%,received 69.5 million votes, and is still a bit more popular than he was on Election Day. However, his subsequent numbers were in the stratosphere and have come down.
He had a 44-15 margin among strongly approve/strongly disapprove. Now that margin is 38-28. He had a 69-28 overall favorable-unfavorable margin. Now 57-41.
It is hard to see any dramatic new announcements that will send that skyrocketing. His face will be on fewer magazine covers with puff pieces in months ahead.
The generic party difference for Congress has closed to 2% between Democrats and Republicans.
