'The greatest thing in the world'?
I happened to be watching Bill Moyer's show the night, and I was struck by this phrase from Thomas Frank, author of What's the Matter with Kansas? and a liberal columnist for (if you can believe it) the Wall Street Journal:
THOMAS FRANK: ...I love Obama. I voted for him many times. He was my state senator back in Chicago. I've, you know, followed this guy's career for ages. I think he's the greatest thing in the world......[emphasis added]
Funny, I can't imagine myself ever saying this about anybody, except perhaps somebody that I'd just proposed to or married.
