Jimmy Carter's delusions
Jimmy Carter now has the gall to claim on The Daily Show that he, not Richard Nixon, opened up China. Is there any diplomatic accomplishment he will not claim credit for?
The fact is that he has been a hindrance, not a help to American diplomacy. He certainly has been intrusive during the administrations of all American presidents since he left office. I am pretty sure Bill Clinton did not appreciate his meddling in North Korea. I don't think George W. Bush appreciated his globe-trotting during which he bolstered Hugo Chavez. I am sure very few Israelis appreciate his support for Yasser Arafat, Hamas, and every assorted thug in the Middle East.
