Which Way Are Those Record Numbers Of Democrats Voting?
Last week I talked with an aunt who has been a stalwart Democrat and has even held public office. She told me that she had voted early, had to hold her breath, but voted for McCain. The granddaughter of a union organizer, she had nothing positive to say about Obama's redistribution of wealth.
This morning I talked to a former neighbor who has been a longstanding Democrat; for decades her front lawn has been the haven for Democrat political signs. She has worked with general elections in our area for longer than most can remember. She divulged that she was happy to not be working the polling place this year because she believes Obama is a communist.
My husband is mixed American Indian/Caucasian and my stepson and grandbabies are mixed African American/Caucasian. I am descended from the "white apes" and my family history is replete with prejudice they suffered as the Irish. I refuse to vote for a racist, no mater what the ethnicity or the religion of that racist. I have cast my vote for McCain.
I believe the surge of new Democrat voters is basically composed of socialists who have found a voice in Obama. Moderate Democrats who believe in capitalism offset by social responsibility are not finding their voice in Obama. The Democratic Party may be very mistaken in counting on the moderate Democrats voting for Obama.
