Conyers calls for investigation into leak of info about Obama's aunt
Yesterday, we covered the story of Obama's aunt Zeituni Onyango being in the country illegally and donating (also illegally) to Obama's presidential campaign. That information apparently came from someone at the Homeland Security Department - a source for the Associated Press story on the matter.
Well, now John Conyers, rushing to protect the privacy of an American citizen, has called for an investigation into the leak of Auntie Zeituni's immigration status:
Michelle Malkin:
Malkin points out that the Bush Administration has actually rushed in and tried to protect Obama's aunt from deportation. And then she asks a pertinent question: Where were all these so-called privacy warriors when Joe the Plumber was having his most personal and private information violated not by a newspaper, but by the state? The left-wing fairweather friends of privacy are all over the leak of Aunti Zeituni’s immigration info — while Joe The Plumber remains persona non grata. Democrat Rep. John Conyers has already called for a federal investigation. The WaPo is already up with an A-section story on the anonymous leak. And the liberal blogs are up in arms.
The MSM abhor anonymous leaks — unless they’re helping to undermine Bush administration anti-terrorism programs or conservative causes and candidates.
Laughably, the Obama cultists suspect that Bush administration officials are in cahoots with the McCain campaign and the Associated Press.
Guess we'll have to get back to you on that...
