Who's a 'Community Organizer?'
How much did Sarah Palin's convention jab at community organizers hurt community organizers and their supporters? This much.
While introducing Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) to a crowd, United Mine Workers of America, President Cecil Roberts
said that he, Martin Luther King, Jr., and other notables were all community organizers.
"Jesus was a community organizer," Roberts said.
As Ms. Palin pointed out in her speech, the difference between her job as mayor and a community organizer was that the former had actual responsibilities. And made decisions. Maybe some community organizers do that but Mr. Roberts insulted himself and the others in whose company he placed community organizers.
