Who supported that Bridge to Nowhere?
When the rubber met the road, Governor Sarah Palin sent the money for the Bridge to Nowhere back to Washington, DC. In Congress, however, when it came time to vote on S.Amdt. 2165 in 2005, an amendment to take money being applied to that Bridge to Nowhere (and one other Alaskan bridge) and send it instead to Louisiana to rebuild the Twin Spans Bridge that had been damaged by Katrina, Barack Obama and Joe Biden voted against the measure - in effect keeping the Alaskan pork and rejecting redirection of the money to help the victims of Katrina.
Republican Ranting has the details here.
