The Times Selective Outrage at Pork Spending
This is one more sign of the disgraceful fall of the New York Times which has become just an adjunct of the Democratic Party. By singling out Alaskan earmarks supported by the governor, the Times has proven to be quite selective in its outrage at what they consider a waste of taxpayer's money.
John McCain opposed the bridge to nowhere earmark and all earmarks. Obama and Biden supported the bridge to nowhere. Meanwhile, Barack Obama is #2 on the list of senators when it comes to the dollar amount of his earmarks (Hillary Clinton is #1).
Did the Times run an editorial highlighting this fact?
Obama has requested one billion dollars in earmarks, having some of them go to political supporters and even the University of Chicago Hospitals which gave Michelle Obama a huge raise ($200,000) when Obama became a Senator.

It's a shame the Times can't find its editorial voice when truly wasteful spending is coming from the candidate of their choice - Barack Obama.
