Polls a jumble
Gallup's daily tracking poll has Obama up by 6 today. That's 5 straight days of gains by Obama in the Gallup survey.
Meanwhile, Rassmussen shows the messiah up by a single point - but he has clearly been gaining the last few days and is ahead now for the first time in 10 days.
What to make of this?
Obama is almost certainly ahead and has some momentum going into the debate next Friday night. The Palin bounce has stabilzed and her likability numbers are now about even: 49% have a positive impression while 46% see her negatively.
While those are fairly high negatives, it's who is positively impressed with Palin that does McCain a lot of good. The base of the party is still energized by the choice of the Alaska governor and as long as that holds true, this will be a race to the wire.
