Down from the trees
The smelly tree-worshipping protestors thwarting development of athletic facilities at the University of California have been skillfully plucked from their treetop aerie.
Zombietime and Protest Shooter have terrific photo-illustrated accounts of the expulsion of the Berkeley tree sitters from their perch, intended to prevent construction of a new athletic training facility adjacent to the football stadium. Coincidentally, I drove by the site the previous day, and there were already no fewer than 8 television remote trucks already parked in the area, perhaps hoping to catch one of the protestors falling.
As events unfolded, the university's forces outsmarted the protestors and saved all of them from unpleasant demises or even any injury. Read all about it here, and also check out Protest Shooter's photos and account here.
