Lake County votes delayed in Indiana (updated)

Watching the coverage of the Indiana primary tonight, everyone is wondering why the votes from Lake County, where Gary is located, are delayed.

A cynic might assume that local officials are waiting to see how many votes are needed to put Obama over the top.

Update: In the end, the majority was not changed by the Lake County vote total. Perhaps Obama saw Tim Russert declare that nobody can dispute that he will be the nominee.

Ethel Fenig adds:

Remember, Lake County is next door to Cook County, where Chicago is located, and this was the notorious practice used by Mayor Richard Daley the First to give JFK his dubious presidential victory.  And of course it is utilized on other occasions.  Funny, the Dems didn't complain about tampered ballots then.
