The friends of Barack Obama
Antoin (Tony) Rezko is not the only troubling source of political funds for Barack Obama to come out of the milieu of Chicago Democrat politics. Meet Michael Bauer, who has donated $300,000 to Democrats, while stealing roughly the same amount from a trust fund for his niece and nephew.
Barack Obama has received between 50 and 100 thousand dollars bundled by Mr. Bauer, according to the campaign's own website.
But of course, this is probably another one of those inconvenient truths that we are supposed to ignore while pretending that Obama is all about change. Business as usual in Chicago machine politics? Avert your eyes. Pretend it never happened. Have some hope because Obama gives a great speech.
