Revote plans in MI and FL appear dead in the water

Unless some miracle formula can be found in the next few days, it appears that revote primaries in both Michigan and Florida will not happen.

It is still a possibility that some Florida delegates will be seated - if a plan to give each delegate a half a vote goes through. But any hope for Michigan delegates to attend the convention appear to be slipping away as the legislature is balking at the cost of a new primary and the Obama camp is digging in their heels against a provision that would prevent anyone voting in the GOP primary from participating in the new contest.  Since Obama would expect many Republicans and Independents to support him, he sees that provision as a loser for him.

The only recourse for the two states appears to be an appeal to the credentials committee in Denver where it would almost certainly be defeated.

Could they appeal the credentials committee ruling? They could try and bring it to the floor of the convention but with Obama operatives probably in control it is unknown if they would succeed in initiating a debate.

One thing is sure; there are going to be a lot of angry Democrats in Florida and Michigan on election day in November - just what John McCain was praying for.
