Paul Simon, SCHIP, Dr. Redlener and Elian Gonzalez
The Democrats are mobilizing all the talent agents they can get, mounting their campaign to override the President's veto of the SCHIP program, including a doctor with apparent psychic powers. Yesterday, they paraded around liberal musician Paul Simon of Simon & Garfunkel fame and they found new a mascot to replace the Frosts, the family that was exposed as less than needy and besides they were collecting under the existing program anyway. The talent agency in Washington that reps these types must have had to canvass the nation from coast to coast to find this one, Bethany Wilkerson a two-year-old with a heart defect, now being held out as the new face of the SCHIP.
I guess the Democrats think that Paul Simon and baby Bethany can carry the day. Why Paul Simon? Turns out Simon teamed up with Dr. Irwin Redlener in one of these celebrity promotion gigs masquerading as charity, putting on concerts featuring Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, James Taylor and others to raise money for a project was named the Childrens Health Fund.

"Elian Gonzalez is now in a state of imminent danger to his physical and emotional well-being in a home that I consider to be psychologically abusive."
The thuggish seizure of Elian Gonzalez by armed U.S. agents in Miami 2000 is one of the most outrageous abuses of power and use of excessive force in the history of America.
It still steams me that the Clintons or any of the other perpetrators of this crime were never held to responsible, and never will be. Allow me to remind readers about that fateful night in Miami the Clinton brown shirts came and kidnapped Elian to send him back to Castro's enslavement.
Deroy Murdoch wrote this account at the Cato Institute's website
At 5:14 a.m. -- while attorneys for the young Cuban refugee negotiated his status with Justice Department officials -- eight Immigration and Naturalization Service officers used a battering ram to knock down the front door of Elian's great uncle, Lazaro. Wielding machine guns, the body-armor-clad agents knocked over a picture of Jesus Christ and a statue of the Virgin Mary on Easter Eve. They then kicked down another door inside the Gonzalez home.According to Elian's cousin, Marisleysis Gonzalez, federal agents held her at gun point while one screamed, "Give me the f - - - ing boy or we'll shoot you." An NBC cameraman said federal gunmen kicked him in the stomach, hit his sound man with a rifle butt and yelled, "Don't move or we'll shoot."A Border Patrol agent in a helmet and goggles soon pointed his assault rifle at Elian and the man who shielded him in his arms -- Donato Dalrymple, one of the fishermen who rescued him from the Atlantic Ocean last Thanksgiving. As Elian hollered, "Help me! Help me!", he was whisked away in a white van driven by yet another federale whose face was hidden in a ski mask. Onlookers, meanwhile, were kept at bay with pepper spray.
Fox News analyst Dick Morris joked that Hillary Clinton's next book will be called "It Takes a SWAT Team."
Back to Redlener: Murdoch notes the strange circumstances surrounding the Clintons' enlistment of the doctor, a pediatrician, not a psychologist. And as such, not qualified to comment on Elian's state of mind. Beyond that, Dr. Redlener never even spoke with Elian. Unless Dr. Redlener is a psychic medium, he was entirely incapable of evaluating Elian's psyche.
Murdoch adds that Redlener also served on Hillary Clinton's health care task force in 1993 and chaired the 1992 Clinton-Gore National Health Leadership Council. "He is little more than an Administration flack with a stethoscope." On top of that Elian's father Juan Miguel Gonzalez was represented by President Clinton's top-dollar impeachment attorney, Greg Craig. Everything about the Elian Gonzalez case stunk to high heaven. A six-year-old boy became the latest victim of the lawless Clinton regime hell bent on serving the political wishes of Fidel Castro, at gunpoint.
If this was a perfectly just country, the Clintons and all their cronies would be summarily disqualified from ever serving in any public office, much less the presidency. Perhaps if Hillary is the Democratic nominee they can run ads with the Elian footage. If they do she might as well write off Florida.
