Confederate Yankee, TNR and the Beauchamp Affair
The Confederate Yankee has been doggedly pursuing the questions raised by the Scott Beauchamp affair at The New Republic. In a post today, he examines some earlier statements made by the editors against facts he has dug up and finds behavior he does not hesitate to label:
"...a purposefully deceptive investigation to cover up the lack of fact-checking prior to publication."
Based on the evidence he has assembled, TNR has got a lot of explaining to do if they are going to offer an alternative explanation for their activities. They still owe us an explanation of how they came to publish the Beauchamp fables.
