1 in 5 Dems Think "The World would be Better Off" if US Lost in Iraq
From our "Least Surprising Poll Result of the Year" files comes the news that about 1 in 5 Democrats believe the world would be better off if the US loses the Iraq War:
The percentage of Democrats (19 percent) who believe that is nearly four times the number of Republicans (5 percent) who gave the same answer. Seven percent of independents said the world would be better off if the U.S. lost the war. Overall, 11 percent of Americans think the world would be "better off" if the U.S. lost the war, and 73 percent disagree. And that's just the Democrats who had the courage to tell a pollster what they really think.
For the far left netroots, it has been an article of faith that an American defeat in Iraq would be good for us, that a little humiliation will do us good, that it will knock us down a peg or two and teach us a lesson.
And they're serious.
So it is not surprising that at least 20% of Democrats believe that the world would be a better place if terrorists controlled Iraq or there was a bloodbath after an American withdrawal with Iran coming out on top.
But hey! Don't question their patriotism!
