Welcome Back Paul Krugman!
Trapped behind the Times Select Firewall at the "Paper of Record" for two years, the conservative blogosphere's favorite liberal loon has been released, free to spout his lunacies to anyone with a mouse and a modem.
To make it easier on all of us, Paulie has started a blog with the grandiose title, "Conscience of a Liberal." Just what is this all about?
I’ve given this New York Times blog the same name, because the politics and economics of inequality will, I expect, be central to many of the blog posts – although I also expect to be posting on a lot of other issues, from health care to high-speed Internet access, from productivity to poll analysis.Tom McGuire is pleased that he and the rest of us will now have Krugman to once again, kick around to our heart's content:
Many of the posts will be supplements to my regular columns; I’ll be using this space to present the kind of information I can’t provide on the printed page – especially charts and tables, which are crucial to the way I think about most of the issues I write about.
Paul Krugman has a new blog hosted at the NY Times, titled "The Conscience of a Liberal". If the first post is any indication, Prof. Krugman has no conscience at all, at least when it comes to choosing between truth and left-pleasing spin. His topic, probably not for the last time, is income inequality, and he recycles with even greater emphasis a howler we targeted back in 2002.McGuire then proceeds to utterly destroy Krugman's thesis regarding income inequality and the reasons for it using some of Paulie's own sources to debunk him.
If this is a foretaste of what we can expect now that the Times Select barrier has been breached, I anticipate may other Krugman roasts in the future.
