The truly invisible (updated)
Hillary's out with her first ad in Iowa: that the average American is invisible to the current president but will not be to her when she's president. She drives her point home with several examples of specific demographic groups that she maintains are invisible to George Bush.
Forgive me, but at the conclusion of the spot, the only thought that I had was that there is one very small group of Americans totally, completely invisible to Hillary Clinton:
Monica Lewinsky
Monica Lewinsky
Gennifer Flowers
Paula Jones
Kathleen Willey
Juanita Broaddrick
Eleanor Mondale
Sally Perdue
Believe me, on this so-called feminist's road to the White House, the women above have achieved the invisibility status of road kill, just momentary bumps and noxious whiffs as her campaign roars on past, totally uncaring of the damage done to God-only-knows how many women by her sexual predator husband.
Update: Rosslyn Smith writes:
Russ can add the name of actress Elizabeth Ward Gracen to his long list of women who have been invisible to Hillary. An Arkansas native, as Elizabeth Ward she was the 1982 Miss America.
Gracen was a regular on the TV show Highlander, 1993-1998, which I must confess was a guilty pleasure of mine, and the star of a 1999 spin off, The Raven. Near the end of Highlander's run I recall interviews in which Gracen admitted to having had sex with then Governor Clinton -once- during her reign as Miss America and that while it may have been consensual, he had come on very, very strong. In 1992, Gracen's stalled acting career suddenly took off when in return for her public denials of an affair, Hollywood finally found
acting roles for her- mostly in mini-series being filmed in places like Croatia and Brazil. Then the Paula Jones case broke and Gracen's life became misery. While she never wanted to testify against Clinton in the first place and had stayed out of the United States entirely during this period to avoid being subpoenaed, it appears the Clintons still felt they had to sic the IRS on her. She also said her family back in Arkansas were being threatened.
