TV does not sympathize (a poem)
TV does not sympathize
With those who moralize
About the way
Things continue to decay.
It balances the discussion
With the fairness doctrine.
It is by way
To keep the moralist at bay.
First it listens to you
To next diffuse the issue
With some playboy
Who enjoys decay.
We all have a somebody
We consider nobody.
With modern sensuality
It's the old morality.
What to do about the way
Things continue to decay?
Some say decay is great.
At least TV encourages debate.
