AT editor and publisher Thomas Lifson will be a guest on CNBC's Kudlow & Company today, discussing the terrorist threat. The program airs from 5 PM to 6 PM, Eastern Daylight time, and the segment is scheduled for 5:40 PM, 2:40 PM Pacific.
Update:
The panel discussion was focused on the new terror threat from medical personnel, and the probability of some sort of biological attack in this country. I stated that I thought any Muslim doctors with any sort of possible connection to AQ are probably already under close surveillance as of last weekend, so they are unlikely to pose an immediate threat of such mischief. The other two panelists, with better credentials on terror than my own, also agreed that the immediate threat is not too severe.
But I also agreed with Larry that we need to enforce stricter scrutiny of medical personnel (and indeed all immigration) from Muslim countries. There was no time for elaboration on this point, but we do have to ask what benefits there are to our country from permitting immigration from a population pool with some segment of people dedicated to our destruction.
I had a good time doing this segment. Because the previous topics apparently went longer than expected, our panel's portion of the show was cut from roughly 20 minutes to about 10 minutes, and all of us were implored to keep our comments concise. As a long-time fan of Larry Kudlow's I was of course thrilled to be invited and to be questioned by him.
We did the broadcast from the lobby of an office building, with a TV mobile unit parked outside. There was quite an echo, but apparently the clip-on microphone picked up only nearby sounds, so it sounded better on TV than it did to my ears. I spoke rather softly to avoid generating too much of an echo.
