Who gets charged when "crying wolf" kills?
Merv at Prairie Pundit points to a coming trial in Texas of a woman on chargesof mannslaughter for falsely crying rape. From AP:
Darrell Roberson came home from a card game late one night to find his wife rolling around with another man in a pickup in the driveway.
Caught in the act with her lover, Tracy Denise Roberson - thinking quickly, if not clearly - cried rape, authorities say. Her husband pulled a gun and killed the other man with a shot to the head.
On Thursday, a grand jury handed up a manslaughter indictment - against the wife, not the husband.
I heartily approve of the Texas grand jury placing responsibility where it belongs. A false accusation of rape is an extremely serious crime.
The victim of the killing, Devin LaSalle, also of course Roberson's cuckolder, was that icon of office and housewife fantasy, a UPS guy.

It remains to be seen if a jury will convict Mrs. Roberson, of course.
As for Duke: The public has not been given the details of the prosecutorial thinking that led Crystal Gail Mangum to be found unworthy of prosecution. The Johnsville News has compiled a massive amount of information on her. In addition to a previous "nervous breakdown" when she faced serious trouble, the woman has a history of irresponsible and mildly criminal behavior.
