Mahmoud's attack on '300.'
When Tehran’s holy war regime starts to attack a Hollywood movie, what’s really going on? It’s the same thing Stalin did when Hitler invaded Russia. Stalin knew perfectly well that Russians would not sacrifice their lives for the murderous Soviet dream, which they hated --- so he appealed to Russian nationalism.
It worked.
That’s what Mahmoud’s UN Mission did today:
"The Iranian people are outraged by the movie produced by the Warner Brothers Studio titled "300" … full of deliberate distortions and derogatory depictions of ancient Persia. … the movie is a serious affront to both history and the proud Iranian people.
"The movie is so overly racist, so overflowing with vicious stereotype of Persians, as a dangerous, bestial force fatally threatening the civilized "free" world, that conveys an implicit acquiescence to the contemporary discourses of hatred espousing a `clash of civilizations.' … this movie is bound to incite righteous rage by millions of people …”
The fact is that the Mullah regime does everything it can to repress the Persian history of Iran before Islam. It is building a dam to drown one of the great memorials to the Persian Empire. It tries to suppress pre-Islamic holidays. And the Grand Guru Khomeini spoke of “patriotism as just another kind of idol worship.”
The mullahs will use Persian pride when it serves them. The rest of the time they will denounce and suppress it. Meanwhile, behind the scenes Mahmoud and the gang are training Iraqi death squads.
One conclusion: The Mullahs feel threatened, or they would not be playing up the patriotism car.
