Creative writing at the NYT

The New York Times writes that man born in 1956 was "born in Palestine," from which he was "evicted" by the Israelis:
"The arc of Mr. Abssi's life shows the allure of Al Qaeda for Arab militants. Born in Palestine, from which he and family were evicted by the Israelis, Mr. Abssi, 51, said he stopped studying medicine to fly planes for Yasir Arafat."
Funny..how the New York Times can literally create "facts" on the ground . In this article that profiles a terrorist ("soft-spoken" - a characterization the Times seems to relish when describing terrorists) who was born in Palestine 51 years ago.

There was no Palestine in 1956. Which map are they using? Maybe this one?  - where the UN literally wipes Israel off the map? Aren't the NYT journalists and readers generally the type of people who criticizes George Bush for not living in a "reality-based" world?
