Dems' do-it-yourself diplomacy (updated)

Democrats seem undeterred by law or propriety from negotiating with our enemies on their own. Kerry with the North Vietnamese; Ted Kennedy with the Soviet Union; Jay Rockefeller with the Syrians; Jimmy Carter with the North Koreans and every other dictatorial thug who'll let him in the door.

Yesterday a story in the Jerusalem Post had the blogopshere onfire

Hamas officials have managed to smuggle more than $66 million in cash through the Rafah border crossing in the past eight months, a member of the Hamas-led government revealed Wednesday.

Meanwhile, sources close to the Hamas-led government claimed that Hamas representatives recently held talks with officials from the US Democratic Party at a secret location.

With all the buzz, you'd think there'd be a denial, but I looked everywhere and could not find one.

I'd like to know if the report is true. Which Democrats engaged in discussions with Hamas, when? And is it too much to ask what they chatted with these murderers about?

Inquiring minds want to know.

From the Jerusalem Post:

Stacie Paxton, Press Secretary for the US Democratic National Committee, denied reports on Thursday that Hamas leaders had met secretly with US Democratic Party officials.

The Bethlehem-based Maan News Agency, quoting sources close to the Hamas-led government, claimed Wednesday that such meetings did take place. However, the agency did not give additional details.

In response to the reports, which were also published in The Jerusalem Post, Paxton said: "No such meeting took place."

The ball is now in Hamas' court to name names and detail their claim.
