Look who's talking!

Of all people in the world to hurl the "race baiting" label, who could possibly be less appropriate than the Rev. Al Sharpton? And of all the people to accuse, who seems less likely than mild—mannered Joe Lieberman? Maggie Haberman reports in the New York Post,

The Rev. Al Sharpton yesterday accused Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman of "flagrant race baiting" for highlighting his support of rival Ned Lamont as "remarkable."

The charges came in a letter after Lieberman, at a Manhattan fund—raiser last week, reportedly called it a "remarkable moment" when Sharpton appeared onstage with Lamont after his Democratic primary victory as he questioned Lamont's commitment to Israel.

"It is your open and flagrant race baiting and your risking Black—Jewish relations . . . that is most troubling to me," Sharpton wrote.

Lieberman spokeswoman Tammy Sun blasted the "baseless, extreme and divisive [attack] from one of Ned Lamont's closest advisers."

Apparently nobody brought up Freddy's Fashion Mart.
