Election jujitsu
The New York Times has outdone itself in twisted victimology. In reporting on the efforts of Democrat candidates to stimulate black turnout, it manages to blame Republicans for the results of a Democrat and media—hyped propaganda blitz that is now backfiring.
...there are worries among Democratic strategists in some states that blacks may not turn up at the polls in big enough numbers because of disillusionment over past shenanigans.
'This notion that elections are stolen and that elections are rigged is so common in the public sphere that we're having to go out of our way to counter them this year,' said Donna Brazile, a Democratic political strategist.
Blame low black turnout on "shenanigans" (implying GOP culpability) in past voting "problems". Long lines at polling places with large numbers of black voters are the responsibility of local election officials, mostly Democrats in heavily black areas.
And what of the phenomenal turnout in black areas of Cleveland and Philadelphia, approaching 100%, in past elections?
The fact is that the left has been braying a mantra of "fixed" elections every time it loses. Those chickens may be coming home to roost, but of course it is always the fault of Republicans.

Update:
Clarice Feldman calls this an example of election jujitsu, and sees another such example:
Hoping to deflect from the fact that they had no platform because to state one that was honest would be to state one that would lose, the Democrats tried to deflect from the issues by overplaying their hand on Foley. Today, that exploded with Senator George Allen's release of excerpts from Jim Webb's writings. They make Foley's racy instant messages look like something in Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farms.
Once again Rove relies on the same October surprise:His opponents are Democrats.
